Reflection
30/03: We discussed about the details of the podcast and what we could do to incorporate the brief for the FMP, such as review the skills we learned throughout the years here by also making short films,
31/03: Finished the laying out the plan for the FMP this went well as i stuck to the time limit and came up with multiple ideas but I could come up with some backup plans in case my original plans can not be done. We also started to to analyse some work done by famous directors and of their signature technique to help us be inspired to make our own technique when filming our FMP. This went well as I learned a lot on how different techniques where used in popular films to give a distinct feeling or
28/04: Finished the Pitch and began the rehearsing it so that we could present the project
This presentation took place on the 28/04/2021. The presentation went well as we managed to get across the basic detail of the project, with plans on how to do each individual podcast and contingencies to each one. However we could of done a little more rehearsing as there was some erring along the way.
19/05: Today we started to record the first podcast for George. We started the recording and everything at first seem to be going well we made good conversation and talked about the previous work of the music videos of each cast member and each of their difficulties and their ease of making each video. Unfortunately there was a problem that we only found out after we finished the first take and it was that the memory cards that we were using didn't have enough space on them to record the first podcast. Next time we will ensure that the cards are empty before we use them so that we have the most space for all of the footage.
The Way we set up the podcast in the triangle style layout is so that the cameras can all get the green screen in frame without either the white side walls or ceiling in frame as well.
20/05: Today we were meant to record the second session of the podcast however we were delayed by about an hour due to one of the cast not turning up on time this lead to a rush when filming which in turn made the recordings un monitored so no one notice that they were unfocused till after the session was over and I had uploaded them to the correct files. This mean that we will have re record this session later when next in the studio. We can avoid this by ensuring everyone knows the time in which we want to record so everyone is on time.
25/05: Today we started the final recording session. The first two went well and we managed to do it all in one take. However the final session also had a few graphical errors and people within the cast messing around and going off topic a fair few times. We can ensure that this wont happen by having someone Primarily the host to control the set and not allow people to constantly go off topic.
27/05: Today we managed to film the final session of the podcast and everything went well and there was no need to reshoot or re set the scene. This day I also started the editing process that began with first sorting all the files to the correct location then making bins for each individual element of the podcast so as to easily identify them. I then began to place into the tracks each individual camera and it was a camera per track with a singular audio track for the whole video. I also made a intro video consisting of all of us in front of the camera one by one. The intro task I think I did very well with and will hope that it will produce a laugh or two when people begin to watch our podcast. The beginning edit went well too as I managed to sync up the audio and the video perfectly to each other and this will allow me to edit the rest of the podcast later without any hiccups.
03/06: Today I continued to to edit the podcast a got to about half way with it by splicing in different camera angles to give the podcast more depth and a more interesting look and will allow views to see a more in-depth and cared for podcast.
04/06: Today I finished the edit completely and I think it went very well with the previous few times editing helping in the long run of production. I also managed to collect fragments from other peoples documentaries to used a background b roll in my shots when appropriate and necessary this will further detail the podcast and make it more interesting to watch.
09/06: Today we started to create promotional material for the podcast such as Instagram, stat sheets and introduction videos as seen on the left and right. This had a slight hick up as we had a tough time adjusting Audition to the correct settings we wanted with all of the effects that we also wanted. We did overcome this and managed to create some good pieces of work to promote the newly designed podcast.
